Playbooks...tell me more

In the last few weeks, more people have been curious about playbooks, talked about them and asked for tips on how to create them. So, I designed an infographic with my top tips on creating your own playbook. We’ve created quite a few for clients, and more recently Dr Jen Frahm and I launched one as a publication -

One of my favourite definitions of a playbook comes from the UK Government Digital Services (GDS) website: “𝘼 𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙨𝙥𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙩𝙮” This definition struck a cord in its reference to a range of tactics. A ‘range’ suggests a playbook provides options for you to apply and ‘tactics’ implies it’s a highly practical resource. To get an idea of the 'look and feel', check out Strategyzer. Strategyzer are the creators of the Business Model Canvas and sell a range of books that feature their models and tools in visually enticing playbooks.
